Yemen vows painful response to Israeli attacks on ports

Yemen condemned Israel’s attacks on its ports, warning of retaliation. Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi denounced Netanyahu’s assassination threats. Yemen expanded its naval and aerial blockade against Israel.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Yemen has condemned Israel’s repeated attacks on its ports, warning that such aggression will be met with a painful response.

In a statement on Friday, Yemen’s Foreign Ministry asserted that the targeting of Yemeni ports reflects Israel’s failure to achieve its objectives. The ministry also criticized the international community’s silence regarding the attacks.

Yemen urged the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad to adopt a strong stance in support of the Palestinian people.

The condemnation follows Israeli airstrikes on Ras Isa, Salif, and Al-Hudaydah ports. According to Israeli media, at least 15 warplanes carried out the strikes, aiming to impose an economic siege on Yemen.

Separately, Yemeni official Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threat to assassinate Ansarullah leader Abdul Malik Al-Houthi, stating that Israel’s failures in Gaza will be repeated in Yemen.

Al-Houthi accused Netanyahu and his war minister of selling illusions and buying time to pursue unattainable goals.

Since October 2023, Yemen’s Armed Forces have conducted pro-Gaza operations, enforcing a naval blockade on Israeli ships heading toward occupied territories.

The blockade was launched in response to Israel’s deadly war on Gaza and its tightened siege on Palestinian lands.

Earlier in May 2025, Yemen expanded its operations by imposing a comprehensive aerial blockade, warning international airlines to suspend flights to Israeli airports for passenger safety.
